Protecting your Beautiful Skin

Before hitting the streets this summer, make sure that your beautiful skin is protected from the suns' dangerous ultraviolet (UV ) rays. When looking for the best sunscreen for people or their family, they normally just look for the highest sun protection factor, but that is not always good for you. What you need to look for in your sunscreen are:
1. SPF 15 or higher for UVB protection
2. UVA protection
3. Water and sweat resistance
4. Kid-friendly sunscreen
5. Sunscreen for skin problems or allergies

Winter Skincare

The cold icey winter weather can cause wear and tear on your skins moisture and appeal. Maintaining beautiful skin during such a cold and drying period can be a challenge but is most definitely possible.  These are a few tips to maintain healthy beautiful skin in the harshness of the winter.

1.) Moisturize, moisturize, MOISTURIZE! - since your skin is more prone to dryness in the winter. Moisturize often during the day to help your skin remain hydrated.

2.) Wear Sunscreen - you may think since the weather in the winter isn't hot you won't need sunscreen when the fact of the matter is you need it more in the winter. The sun is even closer and the rays are even stronger. Wear sunscreen in thevwinter to protect your skin from the damaging UVA and UVB rays.

3.) lightly exfoliate - the cold wind in the winter dries skin out and causes your skin to produce more dead skin cells at once. It is important to lightly exfoliate for brighter, cleaner skin in the winter.

4.) Keep the showers short - a long, hot shower may seem enticing in the coldness of the winter, but these long hot showers can strip your skin of moisture and cause it to dry out. Keep your showers warm and short.

How to Keep Flawless Skin all Year-long

Want flawless skin but none of those cleansers seem to work for you? Try some of these diet changes to see clear result.

·       No White Stuff:  Say goodbye to white breads, pasta, and potatoes. Introduce whole wheat in your diet to see skin improvements.
  • Say Yes to Seafood: Fish with lots of essential fatty acids fight off acne. Try salmon or tuna as a meat replacement and kiss those blemishes goodbye.
  • Add Olive Oil: We're all afraid of fat, but not getting enough of it can cause the skin to break out. Sprinkle olive oil on salad to help your body absorb Vitamin A, which helps the skin prevent aging.

Cleanse Down Deeper

Did you know by applying a warm washcloth to your skin and holding it in place for 10 – 15 seconds allows you to cleanse the skin deeper? The warmth allows the skin/ pores to relax and open, so oils and dirt are easily removed. Plus, stimulates circulation with the cells allowing the skin to repair itself.

Hair, Hair, and More Hair!!

Its that time of year again, where less is more! Well, less clothes that is!

During the winter months, hair removal is one of the last things you want to make a priority, but as the seasons change you have to put that pesky hair in check! There are several methods to rid that unwanted hair and we’re going to give you the pros and cons of some the most popular methods.

  • ·       Shaving: What about shaving? Well when you shave, you are only cutting off the top layer of hair, which grows back in about a week, right?
  • ·       Waxing: Wax seems to be the better option between the two, because waxing removes the root. Which causes the hair to take a longer time to grow back. The only problem is that to wax, you must allow the hair to grow to the necessary length.
  • ·       Laser Removal: Laser hair removal allows the hair to remain gone for an extended amount of time, but does not always work for people with darker skin tones or lighter hair. You will also need to have at least 3 and 6 sessions of the laser hair removal for the procedure to be effective.

How to Care for Your Skin during Spring Weather

Now that spring is here, your skin is going to need extra attention to rejuvenate and prepare for outside sunlight!

Exfoliate: This is important for removing dead skin cells that could have accumulated and caused dry patches.

Protect From the Sun: If you haven’t already, invest in a moisturizer with SPF. This will decrease your chances of wrinkles and skin cancers. The higher the SPF number the better.

Take A Supplement: Vitamins are great for your skin. Also, eating foods rich in vitamins is great for your skin.
